How Long Are Math Tutoring Sessions?

Let’s face it; we all get tired at the end of the day, students and teachers alike. It is a natural limitation that we all experience. Sessions that occur immediately after a full day at school may not be as productive as those that occur later in the day. Extracurricular activities may also limit the times that a student can attend tutoring sessions. It can be hard sometimes to squeeze in the time needed to master a subject. Other times you may find your self needing only some last-minute help before a quiz of an exam. At Online Math Tutor LLC, we understand these needs, which is why we have personal who remain on-call throughout the night.

Some students may only need an hour for a math lesson, whereas others may need up two hours. Factors that can influence session length may include a student’s age, attention span, and the ability to synthesize the content. Students with learning difficulties, such as ADHD, may find shorter sessions to be more productive than longer sessions. Be sure to speak with your tutor about the best course of action when scheduling sessions.

Students in middle school and high school usually need about an hour per math lesson. This time typically provides ample time to discuss topics and work through some problems. College students are required to know mathematical content at a faster pace. Consequential, college students tend to do better with an hour and a half sessions.

For test preparation, it is suggested for non-college students to schedule a minimum session of 1.5 hours at least once per week until the day of the exam.
