If you can contact me, I would be glad to discuss this opportunity in more detail with you. To let you know a little about myself, I am a college professor who has taught precalculus, calculus 1, calculus 2, calculus 3, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, and much more, for several years. I know these subjects very well, and I can help you learn this material. I know what content you need to know and I can teach you this necessary information without going into a long drawn out explanation. I can explain things at a pace that you will be able to understand. My goal is to make sure that you understand the material and not rush through a session. I would be thrilled to help you with your studies. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Let me know if there is anything that I can do.
My teaching style is one that helps the student to develop the idea, instead of teaching how students how they should think. I have found that individuals tend to remember mathematical concepts better when they discover the explanation. My tutoring style is one that mimics this teaching philosophy. I am not one who gives answers, instead, help the student find the answer. I feel that one-on-one interaction can sometimes better address the needs of a student than teaching to a large group. This interaction will allow us to dig into the material so that you will understand the concepts when it comes time to take an exam.
I have tutored students at various grade levels: middle school, high school, and college. I’ll be glad to help you excel in your studies, whether you need to understand basic math concepts or need help understanding theoretical mathematics. I enjoy teaching various levels of mathematics, and I’ll be glad to help you with your studies. I am always ready to explore new ideas and look for new ways to teach a subject. I hold a Ph.D. in mathematics, and I have taught at the collegiate level for over 18 years; in addition to, teaching at middle schools and high schools. I have written solution guides, and I am currently in the process of writing a textbook for calculus and discrete mathematics. I have taught math subjects ranging from basic mathematics to higher theoretical mathematics. I specialize in teaching calculus, discrete math, linear algebra, precalculus, trigonometry, as well as other subjects. I have taught these subjects for several years, and I know common areas where students tend to struggle in these courses.
My hobbies include bowl making, learning mathematics, and riding motorcycles.

Working through 25 modules across five comprehensive units of study, educators collaborate with peers, receive expert facilitation, and develop practices necessary to: 1. design an effective course and class 2. establish a productive learning environment 3. use active learning techniques 4. promote higher order thinking 5. assess in ways that inform and promote deeper levels of learning This course prepares educators in all of the core competencies defined in ACUE’s Effective Practice Framework and leads to a Certificate in Effective Instruction awarded in collaboration with the American Council on Education. Criteria Individuals who earn this certificate have satisfied the expectations of an ACUE course, including successful completion of at least 25 modules aligned to ACUE’s Effective Practice Framework. Certificate holders have demonstrated knowledge of and skill in implementing teaching practices that promote student achievement.
